Vice President Communications

**Location**:Antwerp, Belgium (preferred), hybrid

**Positioning**:Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer as part of the Executive Leadership Team

**Role Purpose**:
The VP Communications develops and implements the strategies, programs, and campaigns to connect, communicate and engage most effectively with a variety of groups, including employees, the public, board members, shareholders, customers and community organisations, using a broad range of channels and media.

The VP Communications also oversees the development of the marketing communication strategy aligned to the business needs.

**Responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to**:

- Strategy: develop a global communication strategy that aligns with the company strategy, and that comprises all communication elements: branding, marketing communication, shareholders communication, (social) media, internal communication, etc.
- Shareholder communications: ensure clear, timely and accurate communication of Sibelco's financial and sustainability performance to relevant stakeholders on a half year, full year basis, and also including specific significant announcements.
- Branding and marketing communications: oversee and lead the development of aligned guidelines and materials for the purpose of conveying positive/impactful marketing communications to target markets.
- Employment branding and internal communications: develop internal communication strategies and plans that support the corporate culture, values and business strategy.
- Media and company external image: develop and maintain beneficial relationships with key media, contribute to relevant media articles, promote and support a favourable and fair public view of the organization.
- Change management: champion change management processes and build change management capabilities within the organization, and support organisational transformation programs.
- Crisis management: develop crisis communication plans and guidelines and advise senior leaders in managing crisis communication.
- People management: Develop a cohesive, effective team that works together towards aligned and consistent goals. Coach leadership in delivering effective communications, both internally and to the external world.

**About you**:

- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- At least 10 years of experience in a senior management role either in an in-house communication role in listed and private-owned companies.
- Good understanding of industrial mineral industry desirable, albeit not essential.
- Good financial acumen and knowledge of sustainability trends to understand and communicate the organisation's performance.
- Creative and thoughtful on how new media technologies can be utilized.
- Proven record of accomplishment of working across a range of communication channels and mediums.
- Dutch, English, and French - very strong verbal & written.
