Thales Belgium SA, Belgium competence center of Thales, is a company located on 2 sites, one in Tubize (near Brussels) and the other one in Herstal (near Liège). Thales Belgium, which employs more than 280 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber) and Aerospace.

The position is based at Herstal, Belgium.

**Mission**:
You will be part of the Bid&Project team. The Bid&Project manager is involved in bid and projects activities, during the full life cycle of the entity’s projects in order to get the satisfaction from all stakeholders.

**Main responsibilities**:

- **In quality of bid manager **, act as the key element in the bid preparation and bring support and contribution for the bid negotiation with the client:

- Define the initial project baseline based on a viable solution and a clear project structure in order to provide the best solution for the customer requirements, and aligned with the business segment strategy.
- Launch the solution direction and plan the upcoming project.
- Build, challenge and validate the bid proposal taking into consideration stakeholders’ inputs and commitments. Manage the risks and the opportunities of the future project.
- Define the main delivery and acceptation milestones, consolidate the costs and validate the global project toolkit in bid phase, basing on the initial project toolkit.
- **In quality of project manager**:

- Ensure the good transition from the bid to the project phase and take part in the preparation, the organization and the **validation of the project launch**:
Initialize the project : Identify the key stakeholders of the project, build the project team, shape the structuring activities, etc

Manage the financial aspects of the acquisition strategy : « Make or Buy » strategy, consultation and negotiation with suppliers, contractualisation, execution and contract completing.

Drive the project launch review involving all the stakeholders : Management project plan and associated documents (WBS, OBS, calendar, budget allocation ), industrial scenario, project chart, team chart
**- Implementation, control and management of the project**:
Launch the potential trials, in collaboration with the « trials » manager,

Launch the work package

Manage the project and be accountable for the stakeholders commitments respect with mastering the risks and opportunities,

Master the requirements, the deadlines and the financial aspects during all the project duration

Be in charge of the project quality and the clients and stakeholders global satisfaction

Manage the legal and contractual obligations and master the litigations

Carry out the reporting, the projects and the phase review meetings.
**- Finalize the project **(documents archiving, expenses permission closing ) while capitalizing and sharing about lessons learned.

**Profile**:

- Engineer degree, with at least 4 to 5 years experience in project management in a high-tech and demanding environment. An experience in an international company is an asset ;
- You are autonomous and rigorous ;
- You are able to think out of the box ;
- You have strong spoken and written communication skills ;
- You are comfortable with technical documents writing ;
- You are able to work inside matrix teams and you are a real team-player;
- You always challenge yourself in order to bring new ideas and new skills in your day-to-day job ;
- You are fluent in French, English and German (oral and written communication) ;
- You are willing to travel (on a frequent basis and sometimes for far away destinations) ;
- The defense sector or the OEM’s knowledge will be considered as a major asset.
