**SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER**

HEC® Liege (University of Liège) is currently seeking a talented “Sustainability Manager” to oversee its
sustainable strategy.

The S’Lab is one of the platforms of services at HEC Liège, created to accelerate the integration of
societal transformation in all aspects of HEC Liège. It has been created to oversee HEC Liège
sustainability strategy. The lab aims at mobilizing HEC Liège research and teaching expertise to support
the sustainable transition of the School. HEC Liège strives to train future managers capable of
apprehending the complexity of ethical issues, to question the solutions taken for granted and to
develop alternative models for value creation, and to play a lead role in the transition of its local
economic and social ecosystem. To accomplish its mission, the S’Lab interacts with the various core
missions of the School, namely research, teaching and corporate services.

**Job description**
You will lead the sustainable transition of the School by coordinating the activities of its S’Lab. You will
work closely with the different professors and existing business partners on developing partnerships
and new initiatives. You will be responsible for identifying and developing areas of growth for HEC
Liège, value for its partners, and benefits for the students.
- Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Provide expertise, strategic input, and support to all the stakeholders of the School;
- Identify opportunities for innovation and education in the field of sustainable transition;
- Create centralized communication and promote successes. Create a central space for

coordination of campus sustainability activities, educational initiatives, noteworthy campus
achievements, reporting and national rankings;
- Promote a culture of sustainability. Work to advance strategies for how to care for

environmental spaces and human communities, and advance sustainability initiatives across
campus;
- Generate and foster new connections, develop potential projects inside the School in

connection with partners and other departments of the University of Liège, examine goals, risks,
and potentials, and estimate needs;
- Integrate sustainability into the classroom. Build bridges between operations, teaching, and

research to establish S’Lab as a living, learning laboratory in which students can learn and apply
sustainability principles and techniques;
- Participate in the fundraising of sustainable projects;
- Participate in the sustainability plan of HEC Liège;
- Promote programs related to sustainability and developments to partners, students, and

stakeholders, through a variety of activities: programs, events, conferences, presentations,
resource mobilization or field work;
- Potentially participate in courses in sustainability.

**Skills and Qualifications**
The skills you need to excel in this position include:
- Experience in sustainability leadership inside an organization
- Acquaintance with academic research (holding a PhD is considered as an asset)
- Professional fluency in English and French
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent oral and written skills to communicate with a large
- team of academic colleagues and senior management in the industry- Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment

This is not an entry-level position.

You must be the holder of a Master degree with experience.
