**Function **:Country Finance Teamlead BE**

The Country Finance Teamlead BE will be responsible for providing high quality and timely financial information, monthly and yearly closing of the BE books including financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and follow up actions. This position will have thorough understanding of the production process, transactions and financial outcome thereof. The Country Finance Teamlead BE will also understand and is able to back up for performing Global Consolidation and Elimination for the Prothya Group as well as the Statutory Consolidation in BE. Prothya is in the process of establishing a holding and mid company to facilitate Group Structure and so this position should be able to account for complex transactions, such as shares transactions, acquisitions, financing, divestitures etc. This position will have direct reports (currently 2, potential growth in future).

**Role Description Country Finance Teamlead BE**

You will be responsible for:

- Leading, coaching and developing the Belgian Accounting team (currently 2 persons).
- As first point of contact for the Belgian team, you will have to manage strong relationships with internal customers and fostering an environment of cross-departmental collaboration.
- Setting strong objectives for the team and following these up trough monthly KPI monitoring.
- Providing high quality and timely financial information, monthly and yearly closing of the BE books including financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and follow up actions.
- Thorough understanding of the production process, transactions and financial outcome thereof.
- Understanding and back up for performing Global Consolidation and Elimination for the Prothya Group.
- Communicating efficiently with management (including timely escalation of issues).
- Carrying out work in accordance with applicable guidelines, procedures and working agreements;
- Performing month-end account closing activities and prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations. Performing checks on controls, analyse the balance sheet accounts and set action items to resolve issues.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for amongst others accruals, variances, payroll, depreciation, provisions and others. Ensure that all transactions are recorded complete and in time. Record journal entries on share transactions, divestiture, acquisitions, loans, long-term incentive plans and other complex transactions.
- Responsible for tax preparation and filling activities: Corporate Income Tax, VAT, CBS, subsidies and other. Reconciliation of the accounts related.
- Performing analysis and check internal controls to adhere with standard accounting principles and company procedures.
- Preparing cash flow forecasts and statements, management reports and ad hoc reporting request to support decisions. Performing analysis in collaboration with the Corporate Controller.
- Work closely with FP&A for explanation of deviations from budget and forecast;
- Report Country financials and analyses for the Consolidation and Reporting Deck (including but not limited to EBITDA, Gross Margin and Production variances);
- Support the auditor in conducting internal and external audits
- Develop procedures and working methods for the organization and the maintenance of the financial administration. Identifies the needs for additional knowledge in the field of financial administration and guides and directs colleagues in day-to-day work.
