**Job Summary**
As the primary point of contact for all regional human resources (HR) matters, the Regional HR Manager provides comprehensive generalist HR support to ICANN staff in Brussels and the greater Europe (EUR) region, and in close collaboration with the Global HR team. In this role, the Regional HR Manager leverages their local expertise to ensure the seamless implementation of HR policies, programs, and initiatives within the region. Key responsibilities encompass talent acquisition, local policy development, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading the successful implementation of global HR initiatives.
The Regional HR Manager plays a vital role in fostering a positive work environment by providing support and guidance to both staff and managers on various HR issues.
**Key Responsibilities & Duties**:
- Serve as the primary liaison for HR matters for staff in ICANN’s Brussels office and in the EUR region.
- Collaborate with global HR Business Partners on complex employee relations matters and compliance, to address conflicts or concerns, and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Drive talent acquisition efforts, including partnering with hiring managers and ensuring the acquisition of top talent by developing effective recruitment strategies for local hiring needs.
- Lead onboarding and integration of new hires within the region.
- Stay updated with local employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
- Ensure region-specific HR initiatives are closely aligned with the organization’s global HR practices.
- Participate in global HR projects, providing regional insights and expertise.
- Support local compensation and benefits practices in partnership with Global Compensation, and Payroll.
- Assist with processing employee benefits and HR-related invoices.
- Advise on and administer local benefit programs.
- Keep up to date with employment laws, regulations, and industry trends across the EUR region.
- Manage relationships with local vendors for HR initiatives.
- Other assigned duties as required.
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)**:
- Generalist HR experience, preferably in a multinational organization.
- Extensive knowledge of EMEA employment laws, regulations, and cultural nuances.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management.
- Proven expertise in problem-solving and offering actionable recommendations for addressing HR challenges.
- Familiarity with developing, implementing, and maintaining HR policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and organizational values.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability in building relationships, consulting, coaching, and influencing.
- Proven track record of establishing credibility, trust, and rapport with stakeholders.
**Education and Experience Requirements**:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Eight years of experience as an HR generalist or manager with regional or international responsibilities.
- Thorough knowledge of employment regulations in Belgium required, with knowledge of other countries in the region strongly preferred.
- Experience working for a US-based global organization is preferred.
**Languages**
- Fluency, both written and spoken, in English and French is required.
**Working Conditions & Physical Requirements**:
- Work is performed in a normal office environment and some exposure to background noise.
- Willingness and ability to travel globally 20% of the time, or as needed.
