Information Risk and Governance Lead

We are looking for a hands-on experienced **Information Risk and Governance Lead**, who is **business-oriented**, **agile** and **communicative** to join us in our IT Security, Risk Management, Data Privacy & Compliance team, based in **Belgium.**

**About the role**:
As a Information Risk and Governance Lead, you will be responsible for driving, design and implement cyber and information security governance & risk solutions, including IT and 3rd party risk governance. You will manage assessment of threats to confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and services, taking ownership of business information risk assessments and reviewing requests for exceptions to security policies. You will ensure and contribute to a data-driven security solutions architecture, and to informed decision taking at governance level. You will also manage and participate to the development of the IT Security policy framework, contribute to the ongoing global information security initiatives and improvements.

**Who you’ll work with**:
You will work with a team of IT and business stakeholders on all applicable projects, together with an administrative support function in India of 3 and liaise with other SMEs in the security team (security architect, IAM, appsec). You will also work closely with Information Security leadership and technical teams in control selection and risk mitigation in Belgium.

- Drive, design and implement cyber and information security governance & risk solutions, including 3rd party risk governance.
- Contribute to a data-driven security solutions architecture, and to informed decision taking at governance level.

- Respond to inquiries from external parties (partners and authorities) about the cyber security posture of UCB.
- Develop reporting on a periodic basis regarding the status and performance of the Information Security Governance process.

I**nterested? For this role, we're looking for the following education, experience, and skills**:

- A degree in Computer Science, Security, Engineering or equivalent through experience. We select on personality, skills, capabilities and experience; not on a degree alone
- Broad knowledge of IT Security frameworks and best practices. Competent to solve business problems and actively engage with stakeholders to understand the real problem.
- Several years of experience with proven track records in building and leading strong international teams. Having pharma experience from a matrix organization is a plus.
- Love working with people & technology and eager to contribute to a strong IT organization. Should be skilled at building strong partnerships and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Fast-paced, changing environment doesn’t scare you. On the contrary, you easily adapt and switch context and can offer pragmatic solutions thanks to your can-do attitude.
- A team player who is also able to work independently and to deliver results.
- Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. French and/or Dutch are nice to have.
- Have very strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to write well-structured documentation and to present technical topics to a wide audience.
