Now, the fabled Grand Hotel Astoria will re-emerge as Corinthia Brussels later in 2024, a beacon of elegance and luxury in the heart of the Belgian capital.

Following a meticulous restoration, Corinthia Brussels will marry the classical elegance of its storied past with sophisticated modern facilities including 126 rooms and suites, a gastronomic restaurant and brasserie, and 1000 square metres of wellness. Catering to discerning locals and luxury travellers, Corinthia Brussels will harmonise heritage with an avant-garde attitude.

As a Demi Chef de Partie at Corinthia Brussels, you play a vital role in the culinary team, contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences that epitomize luxury hospitality. Your responsibilities encompass various aspects of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen organization, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality cuisine to our discerning guests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Assist in dish preparation and cooking, following established recipes and standards, in collaboration with the Chef de Partie and team members.

·      Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation and surrounding areas to ensure efficiency and food safety, adhering to strict hygiene standards.

·      Execute mise-en-place by properly portioning, prepping, and organizing ingredients, as well as stocking supplies and preparing sauces.

·      Support team collaboration by coordinating tasks, communicating effectively, and ensuring timely dish delivery in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

·      Uphold food safety standards by demonstrating awareness of HACCP standards and food safety protocols, taking proactive measures to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

·      Maintain effective communication within the department and ensure that the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef are kept well informed of any problems/queries that have arisen.

· It is vital that all such information remains confidential and must not be disclosed to anyone outside the Company, guests and employees, unless otherwise stated. Please refer to the Employee Handbook for full policy details.

Health & Safety

· To be aware of and comply with safe working practices as stipulated by the Health and Safety Act and as applicable to your place of work. This will include the incumbent’s awareness of any specific hazards at the workplace.

· The wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company will be obligatory.

· To report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to hotel procedure.

· To ensure that any accidents to staff, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures.

· To attend statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and to be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning:

* Fire, Health and Safety

* Regulations, such as COHSS in the European Union, related to the control of substances hazardous to health.

* Risk assessments for your department

* Hotel Fire & Bomb Procedures

· As the hotel’s level of business varies considerably, there is a need for flexibility in attitude, approach and working hours.

TALENT PROFILE

Experience: Proven experience as a Demi Chef de Partie or similar role, preferably within a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.

Skills & Knowledge:

·      Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, including food preparation, plating, and banquet service.

·      Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of culinary excellence.

·      Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

·      Familiarity with HACCP standards and a demonstrated commitment to food safety and hygiene.

Requirements:

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
