As they continue to strengthen their actuarial team, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Property and Casualty (P&C) Actuarial Expert to join their dynamic organization in Belgium. This role is instrumental in shaping their risk management strategies and ensuring the financial stability of our P&C insurance portfolios.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Actuarial Modeling:

    • Develop and maintain actuarial models to analyze and assess risks associated with P&C insurance products.
    • Utilize statistical models and software to perform pricing, reserving, and financial projections.

  2. Pricing and Underwriting Support:

    • Collaborate with underwriting teams to establish appropriate pricing structures for P&C insurance products.
    • Provide actuarial insights to support underwriting decisions and enhance risk selection.

  3. Reserving and Financial Reporting:

    • Conduct regular reserve reviews and analyses to ensure the accuracy of financial reserves.
    • Prepare financial reports and communicate findings to internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.

  4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

    • Evaluate and assess risks associated with new and existing P&C insurance products.
    • Recommend and implement risk mitigation strategies to optimize the overall risk-return profile.

  5. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Stay informed about relevant insurance regulations in Belgium and ensure compliance in actuarial practices.
    • Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports as required.

  6. Data Analysis and Interpretation:

    • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations relevant to P&C insurance.
    • Interpret data findings to provide actionable insights for decision-making.

  7. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, underwriting, and risk management, to align actuarial practices with business objectives.
    • Effectively communicate actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Fellow or Associate of a recognized actuarial organization (e.g., SOA, IFoA).
  • Proven experience in P&C actuarial roles within the insurance industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of actuarial modeling techniques, reserving principles, and pricing methodologies for P&C insurance.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software and programming languages (e.g., R, Python).
  • Fluent in English and French or Dutch.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Requirements

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Management Engineering, Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Risk Management and/or asset management and/or financial markets and/or Asset and Liability Management and/or financial risk modeling.
  • Good knowledge of code or modeling tools.
  • Excellent command of English and proficient in French and Dutch
  • Good presentation and communication skills, ability to extract and convey key messages.
  • Stress resistant and able to meet ambitious deadlines.
