Overview Director of the NATO-Wide Coordination Office – a senior leadership role responsible for establishing and operating the new Office, coordinating between NATO Headquarters, the NATO International Staff and the governance structures of the NATO Procurement, Logistics or Service Organisations (NPLSOs) such as NCIO, NSPO and DIANA. Key Challenges Operationalise the new NATO-Wide Coordination Office and its governance role. Ensure a smooth transition and integration of functions previously scattered across various organisational structures. Establish efficient interfaces between NATO IS, agency governance bodies and executive management of the NPLSOs. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Agency Supervisory Boards of NCIO, NSPO and DIANA. Serve as the central point of coordination between NATO Headquarters and NPLSO governance structures. Facilitate structured engagement between the International Staff and agency governance and executive management. Represent the Director General for Management (DGM) when required and ensure broader coordination on their behalf. Travel occasionally and work beyond standard office hours when required. Oversee the establishment and evolution of the Office as a strategic project, managing risks and ensuring delivery of expected outcomes. Qualifications & Experience Essential University degree from an institution of recognized standing. At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience, including at least 5 years in senior management roles. Strong understanding of NATO’s structure, governance processes and relationships with affiliated agencies. Strong analytical skills and ability to present complex strategic issues and policy options clearly. Proven experience in high-level coordination roles within complex institutional environments. Creative and innovative approach to addressing policy challenges. Minimum language proficiency: English or French – V (Advanced) in one and III (Intermediate) in the other. Desirable Experience supporting international governance bodies or executive-level inter‑agency coordination. Experience in institutional reform and change management in multilateral environments. Knowledge of agency or board-level dynamics within NATO or similar institutions. Competencies Achievement – sets and meets challenging goals. Change Leadership – champions change. Contract Definite duration contract of three years, renewable for up to an additional three years (maximum period of service six years). Non-seconded staff will receive a standard NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations contract. Seconded staff from a national administration will also receive a 3‑year contract subject to national agreement. Application & Selection Applicants must be nationals of NATO member states and submit their application through the NATO e‑recruitment system. A security clearance, medical clearance, accreditation and notification process are required. Pre‑selection testing is scheduled for February 2026; final selection in March 2026 in Brussels, Belgium.
