Based in either Brussels or Madrid

Vertis Environmental Finance is looking for a new talented Aviation Consultant and Corporate Sales Trader to support our aviation team The role will focus primarily on CORSIA – ICAO's Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation.

Our aviation team works with authorities, industry bodies, and operators to help operators in their transition to a low-carbon business.

This role is based in Brussels or Madrid

The role

As our ideal candidate, you will be experienced in aviation and consulting services, passionate about a zero-carbon world, entrepreneurial in your creativity, and strategic in your actions. You will already have strong experience in aviation and will be excited about developing projects with our corporate clients.

More About the Role and Core Responsibilities

Consultancy

  • Lead the execution of projects for our aviation consultancy services
  • Manage the entire consulting process from the client's acceptance of our services, through planning, execution, and follow-up
  • Prepare and present final reports internally and to clients
  • Develop a long-term value network in aviation, to discover and lead additional partnership opportunities

Trading

  • Be an expert in guiding potential clients in their understanding and inclusion of their sector into CORSIA
  • Develop a deep understanding of the market, including regulations, trends, risks, opportunities, and competitors
  • Seek and establish partnerships across the industry
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of new customers and counterparts, prioritize your leads, and turn them into clients and transactions
  • Introduce CORSIA and other carbon offsetting mechanisms to assist clients in complying with the regulation and/or reducing their emissions
  • Actively develop strategies to pursue and win business opportunities and increase profitability
  • Provide clients with essential market intelligence & analysis to support pricing, trading, and risk mitigation strategies
  • For both aspects of the role you will be required to participate in the main aviation conferences and institutional associations and help further establish Vertis as a thought leader in the market

  • Have 1-4 years of solid experience in a sales position and 2-5 years of experience with a proven track record leading consulting projects or compliance in aviation
  • Are a strategic and commercial thinker with a substantial entrepreneurial drive to build a business and take deals through to financial closure
  • Have experience working in aviation companies, institutional regulators, emissions verifiers, or in aviation sustainability projects
  • Knowledge of emission monitoring methodologies and expertise in aviation emission reduction measures
  • Passion and interest to expand your knowledge and expertise in CORSIA
  • Strong communication skills
  • Are knowledgeable and aware of trends in the aviation industry
  • Have the versatility and problem-solving capacity to work autonomously
  • Have ambition and a long-term career outlook to grow with the company
  • Ability and desire to travel
  • Excellent English is a must and Spanish or French will be a plus
