- The team mission is the software and IT infrastructure support for the IBA proton therapy installed base and installation projects. We care for the full life-cycle of our IT and software installations including
- initial deployment and startup
- upgrades and updates
- software and IT configuration handling
- troubleshooting and resolution of issues
- monitoring and maintenance
- IT obsolescence remediation
Due to the fast increasing risks of various attack possibilities from inside and outside of the company we set a strong focus on IT security and IT hygiene for the proton therapy sites.
Your role as a Field Service Manager is to lead the EU based part of the team, including all HR aspects of your direct reports. This includes currently engineers in Belgium, UK, Italy and CZ.
For ongoing and coming tasks and projects, you will act as an interface between the involved persons and departments and ensure to remove identified blockers.
For missions on site you will act as an entry point for missions requests, assign them in the team and ensure a proper follow up of the ongoing missions.

**Challenges we trust you with**
- Your direct reports are located all-over Europe, so this is an international management position involving different European cultures (7 colleagues). A good understanding of different cultures and the ability to act with them is required. Regularly you will have contacts with the remaining team in other continents as well. As a field service manager you coordinate complex missions that involve other flying teams with their managers and technical leaders.
The team is heavily involved in interactions with many other departments, as a field service manager you have to find a good balance between providing support to other departments and guaranteeing the service that we provide to the installed base and sites in installation. The team will grow in the coming time, you have to be able to assess the workload and develop with your manager the required size of the team for the coming years.
As a field service manager you also have to constantly evaluate the proficiency of the team members. You provide regular feedback to the team during One - to - One sessions, remote or in person, or team meetings. During the discussions with the team members you have an openness to detect tensions in an early phase.
You know the allover strategy of the company and will set the correct priorities to the team, to achieve the goals that are in line with the company strategy. You involve the technical leader and system experts of the team for technical advice.

Concretely, you have
- a technical background, study and at least a professional experience in an industrial sector
- an experience or a general knowledge in IT and/or infrastructure
- an experience as people manager (at least 5 years of experience)
- a full proficiency in English (written and orally), French is a real asset
The job is located in Europe (same region as the team), ideally in Belgium. If you are not located in Belgium, you will have some extra trips to Belgium.
