**What does this job entail?**:
**KBC Securities NV is the integrated stock exchange company of KBC Group, with headquarters in Brussels. This means we are a part of the KBC Group, but we’re a separate legal entity. To reenforce our Fixed Income Team, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic and driven trainee who is ready to gain an interesting (first) experience and an exceptional helicopter view of the different areas of KBC Securities, more specifically within our Sustainable and Specialised Finance department).
**What do we expect from you?**:
As a trainee, you will have the chance to work within two different departments of KBC Securities, both of them during a period of 6 months: the sustainable finance team and specialised finance team.
In the sustainable finance team:
- You will be part of a team that is the reference within KBC Securities and KBC Bank in relation to sustainable finance syndicated loan and debt capital market solutions, and is the **expert center **in relation to ESG within KBC Securities.
- You have the opportunity to get acquainted with the different sustainable financing instruments and closely monitor evolutions in the sustainable finance market.
- Together with other fixed income teams of KBC Securities and corporate relationship managers of KBC, **you help to prepare sustainable finance market updates and pitches** to corporate clients of KBC with a view to win leading roles in sustainable finance transactions. You assist in arranging such transactions afterwards in close collaboration with our corporate clients.
- You follow-up and **bundle knowledge **on the different regulatory initiatives (EU Taxonomy, EU Green Bonds, CBI, LMA, ICMA ) and **on the** **sustainability policies **of KBC Group potentially influencing and impacting sustainable finance solutions and the businesses of KBC Securities. You inform the relevant teams of KBC Securities and corporate clients of such changes.
In the Specialised Finance department:
- Within Specialised Finance, your first assignment will be to support the Acquisition Finance team in the structuring of **take-over transactions**. You will be welcomed in and trained by a dynamic team consisting of both young professionals and experienced colleagues.
- The work of the Acquisition Finance team makes a difference, as they facilitate the financing of acquisitions of (mainly) Belgium based companies by Private Equity investors and/or Family Offices. Hence, their work supports the growth and development of Belgian companies.
- You will work on complex and challenging transactions that afterwards **make the headlines of our financial newspapers**.
- As the Acquisition Finance team acts as a** one-stop-shop** for their clients, you will not only be involved in client negotiations, the debt structuring and the internal credit approval process, but also in the legal LMA-based documentation process (**in collaboration with our internal legal teams obviously**).
**Your key strengths?**:
- You hold a Master’s degree in business/finance or other relevant disciplines.
- Additional sustainability related academic background or technical knowledge on sustainability is a plus, but in any case a **genuine interest and willingness to deepen your knowledge on sustainability matters and trends** is required.
- Working in a client-facing environment gives you energy and you are willing to go the extra mile to deliver great value to our clients.
- You are a collaborative person who can work independently while being a **team player **at the same time.
- You are a great communicator, both written and verbally. You are fluent in **Dutch and English** and have at least some working knowledge of French.
