In Luminus IT is a katalyst for value creation for Luminus and it’s customers. We build fit for purpose solutions, provide robust and secure IT services and we transform Luminus with technology - currently targeting Cloud, Data (including AI/ML) and Security as three main areas.
We are looking for a BEM in the domain of Data & Analytics (DNA), a domain in full transformation and which has grown a lot over the last few years. Use of data analytics, both classical BI as well as advance Machine Learning and AI are areas of growth in our various businesses for which IT is building the technological foundations. IT works together with the business to develop new data and analytics use cases. IT provides the platform, the architecture, data ingestion and data engineering capabilities to support the data intelligence teams in the different departments. Due to the recent growth of this domain we are in need of additional Business Analysis capacity.
Luminus IT and its business have adopted Agile software delivery and have implemented scrum, complemented with essential elements of SAFe. This means that we work in quarterly cycles (PI’s) that provide transparancy and stability on what will be delivered in any given quarter. This way our multidisciplinary feature and platform teams can work in a focused way on delivering their quarterly objectives. It also provides a clear path towards preparing the work for the teams for the upcoming quarter and beyond. The default approach is to land work into our release trains and scrum teams while sometimes the addition of specific project governance can be warrented.
The business enagement managers (BEMs) work on the intersection between IT and Business. They represent business within IT and IT within business.
**Assignment & Tasks**
The mission of the BEM is this: "we are the trusted face for our business. We build bridges between all departments, drive fit for purpose decisions and enable value creation in a sustainable pace, using our unique central perspective, so we make Luminus proud of their IT".
Drilling down, this breaks up the assignment of the BEM's into three main pieces.
- “Drive fit for purpose decisions and enable value creation”
- you are responsible for demand intake. You analyze and breakdown new ideas and requests into clear objectives with a clear value proposition, translated into clear requirements.
- In order to do this you ensure you have a deep business understanding
- In collaboration with Solution Architecture you ensure work packages for our teams are well prepared and solutioning meets the necessary quality levels for onboarding so the value delivery by our scrum teams is maximized.
- In order to do this you ensure you have a deep IT architectural understanding.
- Together with Architecture & Business you also work on the multi PI IT roadmap creation

- You guide all stakeholders through our demand intake process and you assist in selecting the right approach for each IT initiative (from the default Agile delivery to setup of specific projects where needed)
- You facilitate release train epic and feature backlog management (=program backlog). You ensure clear value based prioritization across different business requesters while ensuring all prerequisites for onboarding are met, including non-functional requirements like data governance aspects, security, network and infrastructure impacts, GDPR and architectural considerations.
- In order to do this you have a deep understanding of our Agile Delivery process, our project management process as well as an understanding of all non-functional aspects of software development
- You look beyond the border of your own domain and collaborate with the BEMs and architects for other domains to detect and manage dependencies and synergies on program and portfolio level.
- In order to do this you maintain a broad network across departments and keep track of all what is happening in Luminus and specifically in IT

- As BEM you are at all times available for your business as entry point for any matter in IT. You guide them to the right IT colleagues and standardized IT processes but remain available for support when they are stuck.
- You perform stakeholder management on both sides to look after a fluent collaboration between business and IT.
- As IT representative you also use your trusted position to explain IT projects, IT needs and constrains towards the business to generate mutual understanding.
- In order to do this you are an excellent communicator, stakeholder manager and negotiator.
