Project Management Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Management Officer (PMO) to oversee and manage digital projects within the refining industry. The PMO will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. This role requires a deep understanding of digital transformation, project management methodologies, and a hands on approach in a blue collar environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management: Manage multiple smaller Digital Transformation projects in parallel. Develop detailed project plans, including scop:e/goals, timelines, and budgets. Ensure projects align with business goals and track their progress.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project progress to stakeholders and provide regular updates. Collaborate with different departments to ensure all leaders understand where a project is in the development process.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks or issues, and devise contingency plans. Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Team Coordination: Take a coordinating role in cross functional project teams and monitor project progress regularly. Work closely with the team and stakeholders to remove roadblocks and keep the project moving forward.
- Documentation: Prepare project documentation, including scope, briefs, technical documentation, manuals, project plans, and post-project reports. Conduct post-project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Innovation and Improvement: Provide strategic direction on incremental and disruptive innovation opportunities to project management methodologies, processes, and tools through the integration of industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Affinity with digital tools and the IT world.
- Have a hands-on approach in a blue collar environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with digital transformation initiatives in the refining industry.
- Knowledge of refining processes and technologies.
- Certification in Project Management (Scrum, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
Work Arrangement:
- Willing to start a long-term, full-time engagement in this function.
- Fluent in Dutch and English. Proficiency in French is a plus.
- Able to come to Antwerp Refinery for a minimum of 3 days per week during office hours. This position allows for a maximum of 2 days working from home per week.
