Nestled on Rue Royale in Notre Dame aux Neiges, this Belle Époque jewel, sculpted by Henri van Dievoet, has stood as a proud witness to the epochs and events that shaped Brussels. Now, the fabled Grand Hotel Astoria will re-emerge as Corinthia Brussels later in 2024, a beacon of elegance and luxury in the heart of the Belgian capital.
Following a meticulous restoration, Corinthia Brussels will marry the classical elegance of its storied past with sophisticated modern facilities including 126 rooms and suites, a gastronomic restaurant and brasserie, and 1000 square metres of wellness. Catering to discerning locals and luxury travellers, Corinthia Brussels will harmonise heritage with an avant-garde attitude.

To be responsible for managing all Food & Beverage operations to deliver an excellent guest experience while training staff and working within budgeted guidelines. To oversee all aspect of the F&B outlets by providing highly efficient and effective direction and leadership, whilst ensuring that all financials and statutory requirements are met, and supporting the delivery of outstanding customer service. This role is an executive role. The Director of Food and Beverage holds responsibility for the direction and growth of the “various outlets” and for taking and driving all outlet decisions.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Leads and supports the F&B Head of Departments in the training and development of their team in line with the priorities of the business, ensuring that all colleagues have the necessary skills to perform their duties at an exceptional level, whether on the sales of beverages, wines, and/or food items, or any agreed standards of service and delivery.
- Is fully aware of all guests, mystery guest and colleague feedback in respect of training needs and to address accordingly.
- Looks for opportunities to improve the sales and the profitability of all F&B departments.
- Drives the recruitment, management, training and development of the F&B team.
- Outlines the strategies for the division as part the yearly budget and S&M plan
- Defines clear objectives for the division accompanied by action plans to drive business, revenue and profitability.
- Takes a proactive approach to the Front of House and Food and Beverage activities, anticipating potential opportunities.
- Leads and supports the food and beverage departments in times of demand.
- Has a clear understanding of the core of each business and their expectations.
- Responds effectively to any changes in the Corinthia Hotel Brussels, as dictated by the needs of the outlets and the Company.
- Maintains effective communication with all departments and ensures that the Hotel Manager, Head of Departments of the various outlets and peers are kept well informed of any promotions, changes, problems/queries.
- Handles any problems/complaints that arise and report back to the Hotel Manager.
- Attends any training sessions and/or meetings as required.
- Liaises with other divisions and departments to ensure good communication and offer support.
- Is fully conversant with the Corinthia Employee Handbook and ensure that they are adhered to.
- Ensures that all special requirements for guests in business meeting rooms, guest rooms and Food and Beverage outlets are met.
- Checks all Food and Beverage related Guest, Mystery Guest and Quality standard assessment reports on a daily basis. To analyse all such feedback against CHL Quality standards and to put in place an action plan by working closely with Head of Departments in the various outlets and to ensure that these are followed through. To update the “Hotel Manager” (responsible for overall CHL Quality Standards) of all such action plans.
- Liaises with the Talent Development Manager in respect of any trends in learning and development needs in relation to Quality Standards that will benefits any outlets.
- Communicates and coordinates activities with the relevant Executives and HoD’s
- Is fully aware of all relevant suppliers and their products and or order accordingly as and when necessary due to business demand.
- Ensures all departments staff work hygienically and productively,
- Ensures the standards and controls for health and safety, hygiene, risk assessments, COSHH, manual handling and produce are maintained as prescribed by legislation, the company and independent auditors.
- Has a detailed knowledge of department brand standards and be able to explain the standards to the team.
- Creates and implement sales promotions and staff incentives.
- Ensures that all in house control systems / audit requirements are adhered to at all times.
- Manages and liaises with the HoDs’ for all invoices query, price update, Micros setup and control on a daily and monthly basis.
