**YOUR TASKS**
We are hiring a post-doctoral researcher in the field of energy renovations of existing dwellings with a specific focus on life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle costing (LCC).
You will:
- Participate in a research project on sustainable HVAC systems for existing terraced dwellings in Flanders, in which you are responsible for the life cycle assessment and life cycle costing modelling.
- Support ongoing research projects in the field of life cycle assessment of buildings.
- Assist in the guidance of master thesis students and in teaching activities (on average 10% of your time).
- Assist in the preparation of new research proposals in these areas.
You will be part of the UGent Building Physics research group (Faculty of Engineering and Architecture).
**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- You hold a thesis-based doctorate in the field of life cycle assessment of energy renovations in buildings
- You can demonstrate experience in life cycle costing
- Knowledge of the LCA-tool Simapro and Matlab programming is a plus
- You have an excellent command of written and spoken Dutch and English
- You are a dynamic team player
**WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU**
- We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period from 01/01/2025 to 30/04/2026.
- Your contract will start 01/01/2025 the earliest.
