Octiva creates robotic labor automation solutions for the Controlled Environment Agriculture market in close collaboration and at the service of innovative growers. Octiva was created in 2021 from a merger from Priva’s robotic solutions and Octinion’s agricultural robotics. Priva is one of the global leaders in horticulture process control, Octinion is known for building ground-breaking agricultural robotics. With teams in De Lier (The Netherlands) and Leuven (Belgium), Octiva has about 40 employees**.**
The Operations Manager is essential for our company to be successful. Whether it’s by handling operational challenges on the spot or by leading the journey to optimize the work methods: your main goal is to have an efficient operation and streamlined processes. On the lookout for best practices and synergies, you’ll focus on productivity and reduction of costs and non-adding value tasks. You’ll oversee the daily operations and lead employees to ensure maximum engagement, performance and dedication. When the company is successful, it’s thanks to the Operations Manager who helps the teams become more efficient and business focused.
In this role you:
- have a hands-on approach. Merely talking about excellence is not what will make the teams excel: it’s about getting things done.
- lead, facilitate and coach the local management, the internal operations team and the project managers
- stimulate the sharing of knowledge, best practices and successes, across the organization
- design and implement techniques, tools and processes that maximize employee engagement and create a culture of continuous improvement
- manage cost, time, scope, plan, risks, issues and quality of a project and ensure suitable controls are in place
In terms of project management, you will be leading, coordinating, and being involved in the implementation of different international projects. You’ll implement project management tools and coordinate projects. In this all you’ll set up a dynamic relationship across the borders and across the different teams involved (engineering, sales, operations,).
YOUR PROFILE
- a Masters’ degree in Economics or Business combined with a clear interest in technology, engineering and innovation
- at least 8 years of experience in process assessments and key elements of change management and operational excellence as well as project management
- a combination of fact-based analytical skills, a pragmatic can-do attitude and hands-on approach, and you’re keen to bring ideas to reduce costs and improve efficiencies
- a collaborative spirit to work together in cross-functional teams and listen to the local needs
- a strong financial literacy with solid business acumen
- strong commercial skills to manage effective client relationships
- a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- fluency in Dutch and English
