**About the role**:
Join our team and help us use the law to drive integration of climate
- and nature-related risks, opportunities and impacts into financial sector decision-making. We are looking to hire a seasoned lawyer with a flair for litigation and a deep understanding of financial services. You will help shape bold legal strategies that hold institutions accountable and drive genuine environmental change.

**Meet your Manager**

In this role, you will be managed by Megan Clay. Megan joined ClientEarth in 2016. She enjoys running and water sports in her spare time. Before joining ClientEarth, Megan worked as a litigation and disputes lawyer at the international law firm Hogan Lovells. Megan works with the lawyers in the Accountable Finance team to design and implement ambitious legal strategies focussed on systemic impact in the financial sector.

Main Duties
- Researching and analysing financial law and regulation in the UK, Europe and key jurisdictions globally (e.g., directors’ duties, investor fiduciary duties and stewardship responsibilities, financial and prudential risk management obligations, securities law and regulatory and supervisory mandates).
- Working with lawyers across the organisation to identify and analyse opportunities and develop strategies for targeted legal interventions, litigation or regulatory complaints in line with our Global Impact Strategy
- Preparing high-quality written work - for example, writing to regulators and producing other work products designed to communicate our thinking to a wide variety of legal, policy, political, civil society and interdisciplinary audiences;
- Evaluating and managing the risks of legal interventions.

Role requirements
- Relevant legal professional qualification (essential), with qualification in the UK (preferred) or an EU Member State
- Experience of supporting litigation in a corporate or financial sector environment, specifically within a litigation or disputes practice (in private practice or in-house), with preference for financial sector experience in the UK or EU (essential).
- Knowledge of UK and/or EU law and institutions and litigation in UK and/or European courts (essential).
- A demonstrated interest and understanding of climate, toxics and/or nature/biodiversity related issues (essential);
