Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Tax Manager to join our finance team in Belgium. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and transfer pricing. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and international tax regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.

- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
- Provide tax planning advice related to mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure the company adapts to new requirements.

- Ensure compliance with IFRS and GAAP in all tax-related matters.
- Provide guidance on the tax implications of financial reporting under IFRS and GAAP.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate tax reporting and disclosures.

Transfer Pricing:
- Develop and maintain transfer pricing policies and documentation.
- Conduct transfer pricing analysis and benchmarking studies.

- Advise on tax implications and structuring of M&A transactions.
- Conduct due diligence and integration planning from a tax perspective.
- Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders during M&A processes.

- Identify and mitigate tax risks associated with the company's operations.
- Develop and maintain internal controls related to tax compliance and reporting.

- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, CTA) preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a tax management role, preferably in a multinational corporation or Big Four accounting firm.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, M&A, and transfer pricing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- ideally trilingual but at least Fluency in English and knowledge of Dutch and/or French also.
Work Environment:
This position is based in our Belgium office with a hybrid working model. Occasional travel may be required for audits, training, or corporate meetings.
