Business Development Manager

**About the role**
Do you have excellent selling and negotiation skills and a curiosity to work with public affairs and policy?
Working as part of the Sales Team, the Business Development Manager will play a key role in one of the major growth areas of the business. You will be responsible for expanding the business footprint of Dods Group in the EU and sell its wider product portfolio. This role is pivotal in contributing to our organisations continued growth.
You’ll be a highly motivated sales professional with a proven track record of building new business. In previous roles you will have developed new contacts with decision-makers, influencers and new business leads, nurturing prospect relationships and progressing opportunities to closing stage efficiently. You'll be an expert at discovering your prospect’s needs and will be able to position the value and benefits of all Dods products, leading to successfully closing deals. You’ll be a good team player and build positive relationships with your colleagues to support our growth plans.
You will also support the VP of Sales and Marketing and follow up on a timely basis with case studies, strategic initiatives such as new business planning and mapping, competition analysis, market opportunity assessment and market sizing, prospect feedback, sales forecast and lead generation campaigns.

This role is based at our Brussels office. Colleagues spend some of their working week in the office and some days working from home (usually 2-3 days in the office per week). If you would like to explore flexible working options, we would be happy to discuss this as part of the interview process.

We’ve provided political intelligence for 190 years, and whilst we’re looking into how to leverage artificial intelligence, we know that it’s still our people and how we support our customers personally that makes us different. Work can be fast-paced - there’s an expectation that a customer can get straight through to their Consultant or Account Manager to ask a question and get a quick answer. This means that if a colleague is out-of-office, we cover for each other. It’s a very engaging environment to work in, and whilst it can be busy, you know that there are always great colleagues around to support you.

**What are we looking for?**
- You’re likely to have operated at a mid-senior level in your previous roles and have around 5+ years’ experience.
- Proven track record of working successfully in a challenging and commercially quota-based and driven sales environment, with experience of working in B2B New business role.
- Excellent negotiation skills selling to a corporate and advisory customer base is a must.
- Curiosity with public affairs, public policy and regulatory development covered by the business a must to be truly successful.
