Through our internship programme, we aim to bring new innovative ideas into the Alliance. You will get a first-hand look at the inner workings of an international tech organisation, while adding valuable skills and experience to your CV.
**About the Programme**
Internships last between 3 to 10 months, and may commence at any point during the calendar year. With the support from our Security team you will have to obtain a security clearance before taking up your post with us, so we are flexible on your potential start date.
During this programme you will join and support different teams and the same time you will learn from our business experts via on-the-job training and shadowing.
**Eligibility Criteria**
As an Intern at the NCIA, you’ll be expected to be able to relate and network well with your colleagues by being able to easily establish good relationships across the Agency and work with people at all levels. By building an effective network of contacts, you will create and innovate by producing new ideas, approach or insights to the projects and activities that you will undertake. We expect our Interns to deliver results by focusing on the needs of your stakeholders and work in a systematic, methodical and orderly way to achieve your projects or activity goals.
You need to be national of a NATO member country, be currently studying towards a university-level degree or have recently graduated, in the past 12 months, and have strong communication skills in English, both written and oral.

**Internship Description**
Internship duration**:6 months**
This position is within the Service Management and Control (SMC), which is accountable to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the full lifecycle of support for Service Delivery, which includes strategy, design, transition, operation and continuous service improvement. SMC provides the authoritative data for meeting SLA targets and KPIs; and implements and maintains an Enterprise IT Service Management tool, both static and deployed. SMC enables standardised, repeatable ways of working across the NATO enterprise, as well as strengthening network protection and enterprise stability via Change and Configuration Management. SMC provides the common components, toolsets, know how, and human resources to support seamless, integrated and correlated management of services and automation support for key processes through integrated event, asset and Configuration Management. SMC provides comprehensive service reporting as well as predictive root cause and impact analysis to inform incident, problem, change, release, deployment, availability and capacity management at the inter and intra Service Line level.
You will be based in **Mons, Belgium **and you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO's Digital Endeavour, supporting the Branch Chief, Service Management and Control you will work alongside two main areas:
- COO SMC Change, Configuration and Release & Deployment Managers within the Change and Configuration Authority (CCA) supporting the lifecycle planning, control and management of Information Technology (IT) Changes across NATO. CCA supports the Branch Chief by delivering network protection through patching; enabling standardised, repeatable ways of working across the NATO Enterprise. CCA ensures consistency via Configuration Management, maintaining and approving authorised software for the networks. CCA is responsible for creating technology stability and discipline
- COO SMC Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting (MAR) Section where you will work closely with Service Level Managers and Data Analysts that support the Branch Chief by collecting, storing and processing the authoritative data for the Agency and its customers, including Exercises and Operations. MAR provides real-time monitoring of NATO network system availability, transforming raw data into information, knowledge and wisdom; providing robust, lifecycle measurement and reporting for internal and externa customers.
