To strengthen our team in Headquarters Grand-Bigard, we are looking for:
**R&D Manager Sunset Glaze (m/w/d)**

**Your Mission**

You will lead one of the strategic innovations of Puratos, Sunset Glaze, by managing its innovation pipeline, line extensions and renovation, by using state of the art technologies and being in-line with the business unit strategy.

**What you will do**

**You will manage the innovation of the product category**
- Lead the development and the launch of breakthrough innovations under the brand of Sunset Glaze. Identify and prioritize the Innovation opportunities, in line with Puratos Group’s new purpose on health & well-being and sustainability
- Understand, research, identify and evaluate new, disruptive or emerging products, raw materials, ideas, technologies, processes, equipments and trends, in order to feed innovation and optimize existing products and technologies. Secure the competitive edge in collaboration with the Upstream innovation team (GRS)
- Work closely with the product manager(s) of the business unit and manage together the innovation cycle for Sunset Glaze through the Stage & Gate process
- Support the development and drive the implementation of Sunset Glaze innovations (and renovations) in the markets globally
- Identify the right partners to realize the Business Unit innovation strategy, by setting up research/innovation projects and maintaining an active external network
- Be at the leading edge of technology and market novelties: be the expert on the latest innovations, evolutions and raw materials, technology, suppliers, legislation, market trends, competitors etc.
- Be close to customer and give support and/or training to overcome operational challenges

**You will be responsible for competence building & training**
- Build knowledge and become the expert on ingredients functionality (e.g. proteins, starches), taking into account the UHT technology, the strategy of Puratos and of the business unit with focus on plan-based and sustainability, IP protection and the differentiation from competitors
- Ensure knowledge building, documentation and exchange, between headquarters and relevant stakeholders, in order to accelerate innovation and renovation projects

**What we expect from you**
- Academic degree, by preference in Bioscience Engineering or Food Technology
- Relevant experience of at least 5 years
- Languages: English, knowledge of Dutch and French is a plus
- ICT: Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Willing to travel outside Belgium
- Passionate about food
- Ability to think out of the box
- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
- Able to work efficiently in a multi-cultural environment
