You could strengthen our Benelux External Affairs Team to engage a broad scope of audiences on topics they care about.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Deploy an integrated communications strategy to communicate PMI’s smoke-free vision in Belgium/Luxembourg, aligned with the headquarters communications strategy, priorities and guidelines;
- Be responsible for developing and providing guidance to a Manager Communications that will report to you;
- Leverage external communication tools and channels to raise visibility of Philip Morris’ vision for a smoke-free future;
- Supervise content creation, edit and, when needed, create content, from idea to end-result, for media, digital media, events, awards, presentations, addressing both general and niche audiences, externally and internally
- Create, manage and measure the impact of corporate communication campaigns;
- Build an external communications network;
- When needed, represent the Company as a spokesperson and ensure that the Company’s views and positions are conveyed to the public and the media in a factual and timely manner
- Develop and oversee the Benelux Internal Communication strategy together with your counterpart in the Netherlands.
- Provide communication guidance to other business units to ensure best practice is adopted and function-led communications are aligned with the overall transformation strategy.
- University degree in Communication-related fields (Journalism, Business, Marketing, Communication, Media)
- Minimum 7 years in various and diverse Communication-related positions (including, but not limited to media, PR & Corporate Communication agencies, public relations, advertising, journalism, public affairs, regulatory affairs or government relations)
- Extensive contacts in the media industry (general, business, technology, health) and knowledge of its mechanics
- Interest in politics and experience in identifying data points which are politically compelling
- Experience with governmental bodies or EU institutions a plus
- Understanding/experience of the interplay between policy & politics in the EU legislative process
- Digital savviness is a plus.
- Passion for Corporate Communication, Public Affairs and Crisis Management
- Creative insight to formulate strategies into actions.
- Strong leadership skills, complemented by interpersonal skills and team-player attitude
- Team management
- Fluent in English & at least one of the national languages (French or Dutch)
- A bright mind with a knack for strategic execution
