Univercells SA brings together a group of Belgian and global biotech affiliates working together under a common mission (the “Group”). Each division of affiliates operates a different part of the healthcare value chain, through a distinct business model:
- Exothera is a Contract Manufacturing and Development Organization (CDMO) for biologicals, mainly vaccines and viral vectors, with GMP production facilities in Belgium and offering process development and optimization services.
- Unizima delivers international project management of technology transfer, alongside operational support services (quality, supply chain, digital) and bioproduction training programs, as well as care centers and diagnostics surveillance centers.
- Quantoom Biosciences develops open, integrated and affordable manufacturing platforms (RNA as flagship) to enable the production of vaccines & therapeutics that scale from development to mass production.
- RLM Consulting thanks to a substantial knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and a strong scientific background, RLM Consulting provides international regulatory affairs support at all stages of product development, from discovery research through preclinical and clinical testing, up to and beyond submission of the dossier for marketing authorization

**MISSION**:
As Analytical Technician (Nucleic Acid), you will be responsible for performing analytical testing to support the production of mRNA drug products. These tests are mainly based on electrophoresis, immunoassays, and spectrofluorimetry for nucleic acid-based product analysis and characterization. You will help to develop and qualify these analytical methods and analyze samples from our upstream and downstream process development teams. This includes preparing the relevant equipment and reagents, executing the method, and recording the data. You will maintain laboratory equipment and inventory for laboratory supplies. You will also contribute to the writing of analytical protocols and reports. You will work in collaboration with the analytical scientists to achieve project objectives and milestones.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Analytical Technician is responsible for the following:
1. Analytical Execution
- Assemble, prepare, check, and calibrate equipment and/or materials for testing
- Perform the analytical testing according to SOP and experimental plan
- Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) according to good documentation practices
- Suggest and implement improvements
2. Reporting & Analysis
- Review checklist/experimental data
- Evaluate and report results to the Analytical Scientist
- At the request of the Scientist, compile data and write reports
3. Maintenance & Inventory
- Execute basic maintenance of lab equipment
- Cleaning and housekeeping
- Calibrate equipment
- Maintain inventory/standard materials in the lab
- Order specific material
4. Documentation & Training
- In collaboration with the Analytical Scientist, contribute to Writing/Reviewing/Improving SOP, checklist or reports
- Correct use of our Quality Management System
- Identification and reporting of deviations from SOP
- Train colleagues on equipment use, procedures, and practices,
- Share knowledge and experience
**QULIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, analytical chemistry or equivalent
- Experience with analytical method development and pre-qualification is required in several of the described areas: immunoassays, electrophoresis, spectrofluorimetry, PCR or FACS.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in similar area
- Integrity and transparency.
- Strong sense of observation, inventive & critical mindset, scientific curiosity and problem-solving skills.
- Proactivity, flexibility, work organizational skills.
- Enthusiasm and agility to work on a variety of projects.
- Capability to work in a cross-functional and multi-cultural team.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
