We are a team of 70+ colleagues, spread across 13 countries.

Bluesquare is looking for a detail-oriented **half-time Accounting Officer **based in Brussels, with a background in accounting and office administration, to join our Finance and Admin Team.

You will be part of a team of 7 people based in Belgium and abroad. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations. You will work under the supervision of the company CFO, in close collaboration with the Finance Officer, with an external accountant and with administrative and accounting officers abroad.

**Location**: Brussels, Belgium.

**Roles & responsibilities**

1. Accounting Operations
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities, such as maintaining financial records, recording transactions, and preparing journal entries.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Collaborate with the external accountant responsible for VAT closing and monthly closing processes.

2. Administrative Support:

- Provide assistance with various administrative tasks as required.
- Help maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for financial and administrative documents.
- Assist in managing office supplies, vendor relationships, and other administrative needs.

3. Communication and Collaboration:

- Collaborate effectively with all team members.
- Liaise with external parties, such as auditors, tax advisors, and vendors, as necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication regarding accounting and administrative matters.

**Profile**
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- You have at least 5 years of experience in a relevant function
- You have proficiency in using accounting software; experience with Odoo is a plus
- You have excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
- You have excellent analytical and communication skills
- You are solutions oriented
- You are able to work autonomously
- Experience in global health / an international aid or NGO is an asset
- You have exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to get your hands dirty
