• Position Title: HR Director – Benelux & Nordics

• Location: Brussels
POSITION SUMMARY
• Act as the Strategic Business Partner to the Country Manager and leadership team, to develop and implement the people plan for the region.
• Lead the delivery of HR services to all AXA Partners employees based in Benelux & Nordics, working in collaboration with AXA entities providing in country services.
• Lead the HR and Communications team for the geography
• Lead social relations and relationship with Unions representation
DIMENSIONS OF ROLE
• Supporting c.500 employees across 5 countries.
• Managing the HR and Communication team for the region – c.11 employees.
• Member of Executive Committee of Benelux
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide HR & Communication leadership for Region
• Business partner with the Country Manager and Leadership team to understand the business strategy. Work with Global HRBPs to understand business priorities of the functions and develop and implement the HR plan for the region, contributing to the achievement of the business strategy.
• Executive committee member of Benelux, working with leadership team to make decisions on the business and people strategy.
• Lead the provision of all HR services, utilising HRBPs within team, as well as AXA Partner central CofEs and HR Services provided by local AXA entities on an in country basis.
• Lead HR Transformation activities within the region, including target operating model and in-country deployment.
• Act as Account Manager for the HR services provided by AXA entities to ensure the service meets the customer needs of the AXA Partners business, at the required cost.
• Lead and drive the country's contribution to HR community and Transversal business projects.
• Oversee implementation of key HR projects (e.g. systems implementations, process changes.)
• Oversee Communication within region, ensuring co-ordination with Central AXA Partners Communication team.
People/ Workforce Strategy
• Advise and support the Country Manager on senior people topics, ensuring actions are taken and support available.
• Support the leadership team in the development and design of organizational structure
• Work with the business leadership team and Global HRBPs to anticipate and proactively translate business needs into the workforce strategy.
• Draw upon business acumen and external market knowledge to understand business issues and diagnose and implement actions to improve business wide performance and innovative HR practices (bringing the outside in)
• Develop Organisation strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organisational objectives.
• Design succession plans in collaboration with the Country Manager, for key talent and Executive positions as part of AXA's Organizational Talent Review (OTR) process.
Capability building
• Provides coaching and challenge to the Country Manager and leadership team
• Promote interactions within HR team to influence & align AXA people management practices
• Builds HR and Organisational capability
Brand Ambassador
• Speak about the AXA employee value proposition and culture within and outside the company through media and social media, is an ambassador for AXA and drives the social strategy for the business
• Monitor markets constantly and updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organisations as an AXA ambassador and to source cutting edge practices
Social Relations
• Account for geographical social and employee relations as part of a strategic engagement agenda
• Animates on a monthly basis the 3 social bodies of Belgium (Work Council, Union Delegation and Health & Safety)
• Account for a social agenda protecting business continuity and compliance standards
Building & Physical security
• Account for physical security standards deployment
• Ensure space and optimization is well performed to sustain a top workplace environment
• Is accountable for fleet administration with corresponding team
• Is part of the crisis cell leading roles
Team Leadership
• Establish and manage an HR team structure that is conducive to the delivery of business objectives
• Provide leadership, guidance and management to the employees, ensuring high performance and achievement of KPIs and targets
• Support the development of key HR and non-HR executives through ongoing training and mentoring
Company Culture and Talent Management
• Build and cascade the company culture and act as a role model for AXA values and leadership behaviours.
• Ensure high levels of retention and engagement among the employees, promoting and representing AXA as a preferred employer (as measured by Pulse scores)
• Ensure that a talent management strategy and learning and development program is in place to support the delivery of the succession plan. Accountable for the annual OTR process.
• Ensure the countries have a robust learning and development program, both classroom and GLMS led
• Ensure performance management is implemented effectively throughout the countries with a required 100% completion of performance reviews
• Develop the right culture in terms of risk and compliance align with group standards
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Relevant qualification (Bachelor's/ Master's) in business management with a specialisation in HR/organisation behaviour/development preferred. Significant HR leadership experience, preferably in a multi-national context. Excellent strategic HR business partnering skills – ability to understand and have a strong impact on business performance through creating and implementing a people agenda. Collaborative and engaging with an aptitude for driving change and performance as well as the ability to strategically and tactically evaluate and implement sophisticated HR programs and initiatives. Demonstrated track record of exceeding established goals on a consistent basis. Ability to understand, and communicate complex business, legal, regulatory and technical issues clearly and accurately to multiple stakeholders. Adept in building effective internal relationships with senior business and HR leaders in a highly matrixed environment, earning their respect and trust and building consensus around HR strategy and delivery of HR services. Ability to establish credibility for the HR function Strong leadership and people development skills to be able to build a highly reputable, engaged and forward-thinking HR teams. Strong understanding of local Belgian employment legislation and market preferred Fluent in French and English with Flemish preferred.AXA Partners is committed, with equal skills, to diversity & inclusion.
