**A. POST CONTEXT
Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) provides an integrated Strategic Effects framework, employing a multi-domain and multi-region focus to create a 360-degree approach, with the flexibility to enable, upon direction, a seamless transition from Baseline Activities and Current Operations (BACO) up to the Maximum Level of Effort (MLE). SHAPE supports SACEUR in fulfilling his terms of reference, as directed by the North Atlantic Council.
The Strategic Employment (SEM) Directorate delivers comprehensive situational awareness, enabling the identification of crises, and supports estimates, response options and planning. In monitoring NATO’s current operations, it enables SACEUR’s direction and guidance to be disseminated, ensuring coherent Joint Effects, whilst providing comprehensive assessments to NATO HQ.
The J2 Division provides comprehensive advice, warning, and situational awareness to the Command Group (CG) and Allied Command Operations (ACO).
The J22 Intelligence Analysis and Production Branch provides strategic intelligence in support of current NATO operations, potential crises and Advanced Planning.
The Current Operations Section (CUO) maintains strategic situational awareness of current NATO operations.

J2 Division provides comprehensive advice to the Command Group (CG) and Allied Command Operations (ACO) on Intelligence, Counter-Intelligence, Security, Information Assurance, Biometrics and Identity Intelligence, Geospatial, Joint Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (including ISTAR), Intelligence support to Joint Effects and Targeting, Intelligence Systems, Databases, and Interfaces, as well as Intelligence Support to other disciplines. J22 Branch provides strategic intelligence in support of current NATO operations, potential crises and Advanced Planning in accordance with the following lines of effort: CG Strategic Awareness; Strategic Assessments; Support to Advanced, Strategic Planning; Support to Exercises. It manages, directs and coordinates ACO-wide intelligence production requirements throughout ACO, including the NIFC and NSHQ. The branch consists of three sections: Crisis and Situational Awareness; Intel Support to Current Ops (CUO); 24/7 Watch. The J22 Branch provides information, and responds to requests for support from the Director CCOMC, Chief Joint Effects, ACOS J5, Director CyOC, Director COMS DIV and the wider SHAPE staff, in matters related to intelligence analysis and production. It provides oversight of implementation of ACO directives relevant to the Branch functions. This Senior Analyst Post in the Crisis and Situational Awareness Section is responsible for processing, developing and briefing Strategic Intelligence as it relates to EW/Space Threat, as required

**C. PRINCIPAL DUTIES**
**Principal Duties**
The incumbent’s duties are:
- Ensures the alignment of SASP/SSP/RP with DDA concept
- Ensures J22 intelligence products/briefs are coherent with DDA and plans previously quoted
- Collaborates with EUCOM J2 to ensure EUCOM plans are closely aligned with SASP as possible
- Serves as an all-source intelligence analyst
- Maintains strategic situational awareness on potential crisis areas within SACEUR strategic spaces and/or transnational issues as directed by Branch Head.
- Consults and advises on the content and language of J22 intelligence reports and situational updates staffed to the NIE
- Oversees and coordinates editing and quality control of all J22 intelligence products. Provides editorial feedback on each product, specifically format, structure, language and standards
- Captures best practice and oversees format control ot all intelligence outputs across J22
- Liaises with the analysts regarding drafts upon release from Senior analyst
- Liaises with J23 on dissemination on INTEL FS
- Provides analysis on a broad range of topics in the area of intelligence and security, regional and transnational issues
