The Locally Employed Civilian LEC HR (Human Resources), UK Section at SHAPE have a vacancy for a Civilian Personnel Officer, a permanent full-time position.
The starting rate of pay for this post is € 6,339.60 gross per month, going up to a maximum of € 9,826.60 in 10 annual increments. The UK MOD applies fixed pay scales, which means that salaries are not negotiable. However, we offer a range of additional benefits including luncheon vouchers, hospital and group insurance.
The Civilian Personnel Officer Rest of Europe (CPO RoE) covers duties of a technical, administrative and supervisory nature and is responsible for:
- delivering and overseeing Human Resources (HR) services in respect of all Locally Employed Civilian (LEC) personnel employed by the British Ministry of Defence (MOD) within the Area of Responsibility (AoR),
- providing advice on civilian employment matters and social legislation to the Chief of Staff Global Support Organisation (COS GSO), Head of LEC HR, Legal Employers, Heads of Locations, LEC Line Managers as well as to employees,
- managing LEC employment administration and pay.
The CPO RoE’s area of responsibility is Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Turkey, but ad hoc advice on general employment matters and support is also given to the National Support Element (NSE) South Italy and to the Germany-based NSEs.
The role requires a diverse skill set commensurate with the various aspects of the CPO duties. Fluency in English, French and Dutch, spoken as well as written, are a conditio sine qua non. Applicants also have to have an excellent and in-depth working knowledge of the delivery of HR services and employment law, the ability to communicate clearly, to act independently are essential in this appointment.
